As a partner in the firm’s San Francisco office, Mr. Tugade helps clients with a range of cases involving products liability, general liability, professional liability, premises liability, toxic torts and asbestos litigation. He has worked extensively on multiple trials, appeals, and in the management of complex cases in different jurisdictions, both as, and with, national counsel for various clients in state and federal courts.
Before joining the firm with John Brydon (founding partner of Brydon, Hugo & Parker), Mr. Tugade was a partner at Lewis, Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith. He is a decorated combat veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and supervised its JAG law center. In 2002, he received an honorable discharge after over 10 active duty years of military service.
Mr. Tugade earned his J.D. from U.C. Hastings College of the Law, and his B.A. from The College of William & Mary. He has written and lectured on various legal topics and is an adjunct professor of law, teaching legal analysis and writing at Golden Gate University School of Law. He remains actively involved in the community in various leadership positions including membership in the Board of Directors of the “Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada,” and as its Chairperson of the Toxic Torts Committee.
He is admitted to practice before all courts in the State of California, the United States District Court (Northern, Central, Eastern, and Southern Districts) and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
